Open Sweat Lodge and other events at the Weaving Unity Retreat Center in Boulder Creek, CA (Santa Cruz Mountains). Our Lodge meets monthly; alternating women's lodges one month with community lodges the next month. Our intention is to create a safe, sacred space for purification (body, mind, emotions, and spirit). The Sweat Lodge is a ceremony that is found in indigenous cultures around the world. We honor those who have brought these traditions forward. We do not, however, hold to tradtions th …
Meet other local rock climbers to share tips, discuss gear, and plan trips. Looking for a climbing partner, a fun community, some solid routes, amazing bouldering, and maybe to grab a pint afterwards? City Beach is your place.
Since the Bay Area Climbing group is focused mainly on SF and East Bay climbing, thought I'd put this out there as an alternative way for people from the South bay/SJ/Campbell/Sunnyvale/MTN View Areas to hook up and climb together. There are amazing places to go climbing in the south bay and north bay, indoor and outdoor. Planet granite has a beautiful facility in SF and Sunnyvale. Supposedly there are some new places popping up as well. Castle Rock and the Pinnacles are not far from here. The …
I think there are so many climbers out there who want to climb outdoor, but don't even know how to get started. This meetup is for connecting with climbing partners, and it's also a meetup experiment. Instead of top-down with a few organizers arranging activities for the rest, in this group everyone is an Event Organizer so they can create new events. As a member, you can propose a meetup when and where you want the climb and then wait for RSVPs. Or, peruse the meetings already proposed and join one that is to your liking. If an event is just you and one other person, be sure to honor your RSVP or upda …

I have been living in Santa Cruz for 6 years now and one thing is so very apparent. It's not easy to build a network and community of friends in Santa Cruz if you did not grow up in Santa Cruz. I love living in this extremely beautiful part of the world but one also needs a community of friends at the same time. You don't have to be a transplant in Santa Cruz although that is what I am. All are welcome. There is no age range or requirement. If you live in the Santa Cruz area (including all surro …

Yosemite Campsite Share Getting camp sites in Yosemite is hard. So hard. So hard that you have to book 6 months in advance. And you have to do it right at 7:00am on the dot. At 7:01 sites are gone. And guess what, that sucks to do on a Sunday morning....... with a hangover. Yeah, that was my last Sunday. But Yosemite it where the good climbing is and dammit I'm going (and you can come to). So this group is about helping more people camp in Yosemite. How? Well sites allow up to 6 people, and you …

If you are reading this page, you probably already know what a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) is, and you probably are one. "HSP" is a concept explained by Dr. Elaine Aron in her 1996 book "The Highly Sensitive Person." If you identify as a Myers-Briggs INFJ, INFP, or ISFP, an empath, an Indigo, or an "intuitive" there's a very good chance you're also an HSP. If you'd like to learn more, we highly recommend that you visit Elaine Aron's web site and take her sensitivity self-test: http://www.hspe …
Welcome to Monterey Climbing and Adventuring. But mostly to get more people outside! This will be mostly user moderated - meaning anyone in the group will be able to create events. Please be respectful when creating events and only RSVP if you are comfortable with the trip. I …

Obstacle Race Training and Core Conditioning! Whether it's training for your first (or sixth) tough mudder or spartan race or you just need to get some fresh air, think core circuit training on trails! A typical group circuit workout is: 1/2 mile jog/run on a trail then stop to do box jumps- on a prescribed Boulder! Then, another 1/2 mile to another mystery challenge, and so on. Most trail courses we do are in a loop and last about an hour, so all fitness levels welcome! We love doing trails in …
This group is for women of any age looking to climb with other female climbers. Both indoor and outdoor and any level. Preferably if you will be climbing outdoors in the meetups you do have some outdoor climbing experience and/or know your knots. Us women have a strong suit in technique and balance and could learn a lot from each other, while meeting and making new friends!
Are you only kind-of-afraid of heights? Do you like climbing on things? Want to experience the most intense forearm burn available? Are you a climber like me looking for belay partners? My motivations are training first, and fun second; They're really both in first place. For many reasons, saftey being one, I want to stay in "climbing shape," so that when I'm in the vertical rock environment I'm as ready as I can be physically, which is a vital rule when climbing. It's a great strength builder, …
